Piatti e Dolci will be a small Italian fusion bakery and cafe, ran locally here in Oakland, that will provide more then just our delicious menu. We want to help local neighborhoods and businesses by using only organic products from local farms and businesses.

The Future We Are Creating

We are creating a strong relationship with local farmers, business, entrepreneurs and artist. We believe that buying local and collaborating with local citizens will help build neighborhoods and keep our youth heading in the right direction. We will also be selling local art inside Piatti e Dolci.

How We Are Creating It

I have been baking and cooking in my own kitchen for my family and friends. I'm infusing Italian baking and food into our locally owned (one day!) restaurant to bring a little essence from my family. I will also be looking for a space with a backyard/roof deck to provide space for a personal garden and learning center for local youth to come and learn how to support local entrepreneurs by creating knowledge in growing fresh produce, buying local, baking and cooking your own food.

I am Michael Porreca and I am the founder of Piatti e Dolci.I grew up in a family that has owned and opperated Deli's and Restaurants locally in Northern California since the 1970's. I believe that good food provides more then just a smile on your face. We believe that buying local provides more income and jobs for your neighboorhood. I also want to empower youth to keep positive with life through art, baking, cooking and crafts. By supporting and donating to Piatti e Dolci, you will be supporting not only myself but dozens of local entrepreneurs.
