We aim to eliminate racist behaviour in Australia through innovative, evidence-based and effective social marketing.
During the past year, one in seven Australians was a victim of racism. Nearly half of all Australians from culturally diverse backgrounds have experienced racism at some time in their life.
We want to address this by using social marketing campaigns to promote the benefits of cultural diversity, reduce the incidence of racism, and address cultural misconceptions in Australia. Our first campaign starts on 16 May with a bunch of organisations including The Body Shop. We're encouraging people to speak up when they hear a racist comment to let people know that it's not acceptable. By speaking up, you'll feel better knowing that, in your own small way, you've taken a stand. The abuser may then think twice about expressing racist attitudes in the future. And the victim will feel supported and hopefully less disturbed by the abuse.
We are the only non-profit organisation working solely to address racism in Australia. Our work is based on evidence, and we measure the impact of our work. By supporting us, you are helping us to make Australia a more tolerant society, one person at a time.
