Campaign Overview

Help 350.org make the “Global Warming: Do the Maths” tour a success as we take on coal export expansion in Australia.

Who We Are

350.org is a grassroots global movement working to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis. This June, 350.org founder and author Bill McKibben is coming to Australia for a “Global Warming: Do the Maths” Tour to sound the alarm about plans to drastically expand coal mining for export.

What We Are Doing

Bill will hold public talks and meet with media, business and political leaders in four cities to expose the terrifying scale of Australia’s coal mining and export expansion plans -- which, if allowed to go ahead, would take the planet beyond the point of no return.

Why Your Support Matters

Your support will help ensure Bill’s visit has real impact to raise awareness and public opposition to these dangerous coal expansion projects before it’s too late.

Tipping Point Goal: $2,000

Total Funding Goal: $8,000

In the first week of June, Bill McKibben will be holding public talks in four Australian cities. While we have funding for the venues and travel, we urgently need additional funds to produce cutting-edge video, graphics and presentation materials to ensure Bill’s talks have real impact.

Raising $2,000 will help 350.org to:

-Shoot video interviews with Australian experts so that they can be included as part of Bill McKibben's Australian talks and edit additional international interviews as part of the tour.

Additional funds up to $8,000 will allow 350.org to:

-Shoot photos and video of the tour so that it can be shared immediately after on YouTube with those who cannot attend.

-Promote the Do the Maths Tour to ensure each event is sold out in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.

-Enable Bill and a few Australian opinion leaders to tour the coal mining areas around Gladstone, Qld. We hope this will enable him to talk and write about Australia's climate change challenges in more detail after the tour.

-Fund a number of additional events to reach out to business and political leaders while Bill is here (beyond the public talks).
