An Intercultural Discussion
This component will be implemented at the end of the year joining, individuals from different schools so that they can share and learn for one another´s experience.
Being born with a disability has definitely been a challenging and educational experience. People inevitably see me differently and, therefore, treat me differently. Right now, I see it as a growing experience that allows me to demonstrate to myself that I can do anything I set my mind on. But when I was a child and experienced this constant rejection, it really hurt and impacted me; I perceived how my classmates were confused around me, I heard whispers, which sometimes turned into laughter, of younger kids asking their moms what was wrong with me, I sat watching my brother play soccer and wished I could be out there on the field, among other many things. I grew up resenting people and feeling sorry for myself. Fortunately as the years went by, finding the right people along the way, I learned to deal with it, see it as a challenge and have fun with the good aspects that result from the situation, while motivating other people never to give up. This is what 2gether-International hopes to accomplish, turning what might be perceived as a limit into an influential factor of human diversity
