One Billion Literates Foundation is a Bangalore (India) based non profit organization whose mission is computer literacy for underprivileged children and their mothers in rural India. We believe that in India the need of the hour is not to keep starting for profit schools targeted for a tiny section of the society, but to bring more resources seen only in private schools to the mass schooling system attended by more than 60% of our children in order to increase our 'good human capital' in the future.. We are also working with the mothers of these children (mostly middle school drop outs), so that we can make them employable, bring jobs to them and obviate migration towards already crowded cities.
The Main Objective is to set up libraries, computer labs and science labs in affordable private schools.
