The Power of One is an innovative economic 360 degree Harlem based community action plan where the entire community wins. Beginning with an Affinity Card that cost the consumer One Dollar and gives them discounts at local businesses. The program hopes to sell $1 million cards to show how a community, by spending locally can transform an urban or blighted community into one that will prosper and transform. The consumer wins by receiving discounts and perks. The businesses win by attracting more traffic and our non-profit beneficiaries that support programs which enhance the cultural and artistic pulse of the community also wins by receiving 10 cents of ever dollar raised. We believe that if we increase the vitality of a community, social problems will take care of themselves.

We plan to provide affordable housing for disabled and homeless veterans in a county that does not offer these services.We also will provide section 8 and housing for those that have been displaced as a result of fire or natural disaster.

The idea aims to create jobs and engage women from poor families, traffic victims, physically disabled women in poor rural areas of Moldova. We will create workshops in these villages where women are going to be given all the necessary training in order to make knitted clothes with remarkable design which will be sold on-line. The extra profit will be invested in social projects to improve the communities these women live in.
